Mental health challenges need not be a taboo – they are more common than we think. In fact, 1 in 4 of us will struggle with some aspect of our mental health in any given year. The effects of a mental illness can be as debilitating as a physical illness, yet people who live with mental health difficulties face stigma and discrimination, the impact of which can sometimes be described as much worse than their symptoms. This can result in people being reluctant to seek help and support, which can impede their recovery.

OpenMinds is committed to dismantling negative stereotypes surrounding mental health, as well as providing practical support to those who face such challenges.
